If you are a serious woodworker or hobbyist, you know that one of the most important parts of any saw is the blade. It is the thing that allows the saw to make clean, accurate cuts.
Forrest manufactures a range of quality, made-in-the-USA saw blades that are designed to work with almost any power saw. All of these blades come with a 30-day money back guarantee.
Woodworker II
A general-purpose blade that works well on both rip cuts and crosscuts, the Woodworker II is popular among woodworkers. Its aggressive hook angle chews through a rip cut fairly quickly, but it still leaves a smooth, finished cut.
The Woodworker II also performs well on most crosscuts, thanks to its high tooth count. Crosscuts are typically short in duration, so a higher tooth count helps prevent tearout and allows you to make clean cuts without the risk of splintering.
With the Woodworker II, you can rip and crosscut 1″ to 2″ hardwood and softwoods with a smooth-as-sanded finish. You can also rip and crosscut ply veneers at moderate feed rates with no bottom splinter.
This blade is hardened to Rc40-42, and its steel plates are laser cut and hand straightened and tensioned to produce a runout accuracy better than 0.001″. Long-life C-4 carbide teeth are finely ground to produce clean cuts with little side scoring or tearout.
These saw blades are made in the U.S.A. by Forrest, a family-owned company that has served woodworkers since 1946. They have a full line of saw blades for table, jobsite and radial arm saws, as well as blade kits for dado or rabbet cutting. They also offer Duraline and No-Melt blades for laminates, composite materials and plastics.
Ply Veneer Worker
The Ply Veneer Worker is a high-precision commercial-quality blade that’s designed for cutting wood products only. It delivers flawless cuts without splintering or fuzz, and it lasts up to 300% longer between sharpenings than standard blades.
It has the same C-4 micrograin carbide that’s used in our popular Forrest Woodworker II blade. It’s also corrosion-resistant, so you won’t have to worry about resharpening it frequently.
This blade is perfect for ripping and cross-cutting two-sided veneer plywood, whether finished or unfinished. It’s compatible with most table saws, and it has a standard 5/8-inch arbor.
The blade is made with the same high-precision technology that’s behind the Forrest Woodworker II, so it delivers a clean cut with no splintering or fuzz. And the C-4 micrograin carbide is durable and corrosion-resistant, so it lasts up to 300% longer between resharpenings than regular blades.
A veneer is a thin layer of wood that is laminated to the surface of a panel. It is used to give furniture a more attractive appearance and improve it’s strength. It is more resistant to water damage and warping than solid wood, and it can be refinished with minimal effort.
Wood veneer is available in several different types, including paper-backed and phenolic backed. A 10 mil paper-backed veneer is generally the best choice for most projects. The extra thickness minimizes seasonal expansion and contraction caused by changes in ambient humidity. Phenolic backed veneer is less common, but is also becoming more popular.
Chopmaster
Forrest chop saw blades are some of the finest in the industry, and they’re backed up by a money-back guarantee. All of their blades are crafted with super-hard C-4 micro-grain carbide that can last up to 300% longer between sharpenings than standard saw blades.
They’re also made with super-finely ground long-life C-4 carbide teeth that produce clean, finish-quality cuts without side scoring or tear-out. They are hand trued and tensioned to achieve exceptional perimeter concentricity, perfect plate flatness, and better than 0.001″ runout accuracy.
Chopmaster blades are a good choice for cutting all kinds of woods including hardwoods, plywood and natural wood composites up to 2″ thick. They’re a general purpose blade with a 60 tooth count and are ideal for crosscuts.
The CM12806115 Chopmaster 80-Tooth ATB Miter Saw Blade offers effortless feeding and is great at handling bottom splintering on radial cuts. It also has a 30-inch ATB tooth design that will stop on demand.
The DEWALT DW3106P5 60-Tooth Crosscutting and 32-Tooth General Purpose Saw Blade Combo Pack is another great option to consider. Its thin kerf design delivers fast, smooth, and accurate cuts for moderate woodworking projects. The tungsten carbide material is also durable, so it’s sure to hold up well over time. Its dampening slots help reduce vibrations during operation, as well as increase accuracy.
